That has some of my favorite sithniyaan and boliyaan. ![]() If you aren't already familiar with it (I imagine you are since you're on a gidha team), the Gidha Pao Kuriyo album is a classic and all available on youtube I believe. If you're creating a google doc already, that's awesome - but having a notebook on hand for when you hear ones you're unfamiliar with may be helpful. ![]() Write in the ones you know, and when you learn new ones, add them in. I personally also suggest keeping a notebook section sectioned into tappe, sithniyaan, 2-line boliyan, 3-line boliyan, etc. There is a commercially available "boliyan book" that's out of the UK that is a good starting point. Re: Categories for weddings, you're going to have Ghorhiyaan (songs for groom), Suhaag (songs for bride), tappe, sithniyaan (naankay daadkay teasing), boliyaan, folk songs, baari barsi, and I also include other family participation songs like "cholay barhay karaaray" where you can call up different relatives/friends to dance in the middle. I miss doing gidha - the only groups locally available to me are aunty groups where the aunties don't actually dance very well. Hi! I professionally sing for Lady Sangeets so I'm always working on expanding my own book as well.
